Extremely sour lolly burns hole in kid’s tongue

Lachlan Canak, aged seven, of Sydney Australia, has to blend his dinners to eat them after the painful experience last week.

The boy’s mum, Hayley, said she felt ‘sick’ when she saw the damage caused by a Warhead Juniors Extreme Sour lolly, reports Stuff.

She posted a photo on Facebook and wrote: ‘I really felt the need to share this photo: this happened after he was eating sour war head candy. It has burnt a hole in his tongue.’

The lollies contain malic acid and are marketed as an ‘extreme candy’ by US company Impact Confections.



The packaging states the lollies are appropriate for children aged four and older.

It comes with a warning that ‘eating multiple pieces within a short time period may cause a temporary irritation to sensitive tongues and mouths’.
